The Industrial Revolution caused cities to grow bigger and changed how people lived and worked. As we learned earlier in the chapter, Britain was the first country to become industrialized. As a result Britain was also the first country to become urbanized. Farms began using more machines and fewer workers. This caused people to move from rural areas into the cities to find work in factories.
